The ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 gets a festive "Holiday Injection" pack

Those who have been in the industry for a long time or are seriously interested in sneaker culture know well: the appearance of a new silhouette featuring a collaborator is no longer surprising. However, ASICS has gone significantly beyond the standard scenario. The first signs of this approach appeared with the ASICS GEL-NYC , created in collaboration with Awake NY and its founder, Angelo Baquet. The next logical step was the ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 – a silhouette born from a collaboration with Ronnie Fieg and KITH, combining elements of several technical running models from the Japanese brand's archive.

Following a series of successful collaborations with a New York retailer, the GEL-Kayano 12.1 has gradually gained a foothold in ASICS's regular lineup. However, the brand hasn't limited itself to basic colorways for the general release. Instead, the model is receiving a more festive and experimental interpretation in the form of the Holiday Injection pack, which has already begun appearing in news feeds.

The collection consists of two contrasting options—light and dark—united by the use of iridescent leather overlays. The white version emphasizes this effect with vibrant orange accents, while the black version relies on cool light blue details. Together, they create a festive, almost futuristic look that sets the GEL-Kayano 12.1 apart from other technical runners this season.

This release further highlights ASICS's ability to transform collaborative ideas into fully-fledged products, maintaining a balance between its running heritage and a contemporary fashion aesthetic.
